Certified Trade Executive (CTE)

In furtherance of IRTA's 40-year mission to provide quality education to the industry, in March of 2019 the IRTA Global Board of Directors approved a new professional designation for the owners and managers of barter exchanges - the Certified Trade Executive, (CTE).

The CTE program covers all the pertinent topics needed for industry executives to professionally manage their exchanges while also staying current with the latest barter industry developments. The resource materials for the CTE exam are a compilation of IRTA's 40-years of advisory memos and library resource materials.

The CTE exam is offered online and consist of true/false, multiple choice, short answer and essay questions. The CTE exam is an open book test, within a two hour time period. LEARN MORE

Certified Trade Broker & Registered Trade Broker (CTB & RTB)

IRTA has provided important training for trade brokers for over thirty years via the CTB and RTB professional designations.

Recipients of the CTB/RTB designations are recognized as having valuable expertise in barter accounting, trade dollar economics, ethics, sales and marketing. CTB recipients who have three years of broker experience, (after receiving their CTB designation), are eligible to take the CTE exam.

Certified Trade Broker (CTB)

Earning the CTB designation demonstrates your commitment to the industry and adherence to IRTA established performance standards and ethics.
